Passive voice (simple present tense)

di bawah ini rumus adalah rumus untuk membuat kalimat pasif dalam simple present tense:

1. Aktif     :

(+)They borrow the pencil

(-)They don’t borrow the pencil

(?) Do they borrow the pencil?

1. Pasif     :

(+)The pencil is borrowed by them

(-)The pencil is not borrowed by them

(?)Is the pencil borrowed by them?

2. Aktif     :

(+) he repairs this blue car.

(-) he does not repair this blue car.

(?)Does he repair this blue car?

2. Pasif     :

(+)This blue car is repaired by his

(-)This blue car is not repaired by his

(?)Is the blue car  repaired by his ?

Note:
1. perhatikan subject pronoun. jika di ganti pasif maka akan berubah menjadi object pronoun. jelasnya disini

2. dalam kalimat pasif yang ditekankan itu pekerjaannya atau perbuatannya/verbnya, dan tidak terlalu penting siapa yang melakukan perkejaan itu. jadi kita tidak harus selalu memakai kata “by…” dalam kalimat pasif.

Contoh:

My cat was stolen

(Kucing saya dicuri)

contoh tersebut tidak terdapat  kata “by…” , tidak ada keterangan siapa yang mencuri dan kalimat pasif tersebut juga benar.
